Exposure to environmental chemicals, drugs, and natural products can result in toxicity to humans and wildlife. Our lab is interested in elucidating the underlying mechanisms of nuclear receptor-mediated toxicity in order to better understand human risk. Our approach involves the integration of data from in vitro and in vivo studies with computational (bioinformatics) techniques to further elucidate the physiological, cellular, and molecular effects associated with a toxic response within the context of a whole organism, its genome, proteome, and metabolome.
